Spring Juice Cleanse

Okay, I will be honest packed on few pounds this past winter. Spring is here and I need to start working on that summer bod! Trying to eat better, drink less, and exercise more. Why not start with a juice cleanse.

A found a couple of great recipes and wanted to share on my blog.

Moroccan Beet Detoxer

1 small bunch of mint
1 dark green lettuce leaf such as romaine or green leaf
1 beet, with leaves
1 cucumber, peeled if not organic
1 lemon, peeled if not organic
1 green apple

I personal like the taste of beets adding the mint and green helps with the beet taste if you are not a fan. Wash your beets very well before putting in juicer. Recipe and photo from Juice Lady Cherie.

Elixir Green Juice

2 stalks swiss chard
1 handful basil (or flat-leaf parsley)
1 green apple, cored
2 ribs celery
1/2 English cucumber

This juice tastes like chard and very “green” but makes for an excellent mid-day juice. Recipe and photo from the Blender Girl.

Spicy Lemonade

3 lemons
1/2 chunk of fresh ginger
1/4 teaspoon cayenne, add to the juice, not through juicer
10oz Purified Water
1 tablespoon Agave Nectar

I love this juice!! Tarty but a slightly sweet and spicy. Recipe and photo from Evolution Fresh.

Cashew Milk Juice

Cleansing-Cashew-Milk-4000    1 cup cashews, soaked for 4 hours
3 cups filtered water
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

I was super excited to try this juice, very different than what you think of when juicing and great breakfast juice. Recipe and photo from Healthful Pursuit.

P.A.M. Juice

1 pineapple (approx. 20oz), peeled and pre-cored
4 small apples
1 bunch mint leaves

My favorite juice on the list. Taste like a cocktail minus the booze. Recipe and photo from Chic and Sugar.

Green Juice

½ cup fresh parsley
3 cups spinach
½ lemon, peeled
2 medium pears, cut into eighths
6 large stalks celery, trimmed

A great, easy, basic juice to make and drink. Recipe and photo from Eating Well.
