IT’S BEEN AWHILE

WOW, I DIDN’T MEAN TO TAKE SUCH A LONG BREAK. LIFE HAPPENED.

What happened in the last few years…started a new job, moved, got involved in politics, volunteered, and was living my best life.

Then COVID hit! I decided to take the time to play around with cooking and baking by trying new out recipes. I was having such a blast. As we were entering our third month, I got super depressed couldn’t stop eating and drinking wine every night.

I tried to exercise and eat healthily, but that only lasted a few days, maybe a week. I knew I had to do something drastic. Tomorrow, I will be starting, for what I like to call a healthy lifestyle change.

I have decided to try intermittent fasting. I researched different diets and other methods, and I felt this one best aline with my lifestyle and capacity.

I will be doing the 16/8 method. It involves fasting every day for 14–16 hours and restricting your daily eating window to 8–10 hours, which started tonight at 8 PM for me.

Doing this method of fasting is as simple as not eating anything after dinner and skipping breakfast. Once I start eating, I will be on a flexitarian meal plan.
